About Me

Welcome! I'm Dwayne Custer, a seasoned learning and development leader with over two decades of experience designing impactful, scalable, and human-centered learning experiences. My professional journey spans Fortune 100 companies like Walmart, Nike, and Verizon, where I’ve developed leadership programs, transformed onboarding, and elevated employee engagement and performance through strategic, data-informed instructional design.

At the heart of my work is a belief in the transformative power of learning and storytelling. Whether I'm designing a leadership toolkit, developing a digital onboarding experience, or writing a reflective guidebook, I bring together research-based practice, design thinking, and authentic connection.

I hold a Ph.D. in Transformative Studies, an M.Ed. in Adult and Higher Education, and an M.A. in Transpersonal Psychology. These disciplines shape how I approach learning—as both a process of personal growth and a catalyst for systemic change. I’ve also published on autoethnography, narrative transformation, and LGBTQ+ empowerment, including my book Odyssey of Heroes: How to Rewrite Your Life.
